由當代版畫創作環境的相關議題談版畫專業在高等教育中的定位

現代版畫藝術在台灣已發展多年,並已有相當之成果;但是科技、社會意識形態、市場經濟與藝術創作觀念的發展變革,挑戰著公眾認知裡版畫作為藝術創作媒材的存績,逐漸形成版畫的邊緣性議題,這個由市場經濟與在地藝術素養發展緩慢所形成的觀點,衝擊著台灣版畫藝術發展的存續;本文試著說明如何在這樣的時空背景,利用科技的進展與主動涉入公共範疇來面對這樣的挑戰;文章後半段進而延伸談及版畫藝術在高等藝術教育中的任務定位。
The development of printmaking in Taiwan achieves at a certain high level, but the changing technology, social ideology, market economy and art making concepts challenge the existence of printmaking as an approved art creation medium in the future by the public. The most crucial issue is printmaking being on the fringe of art world. Such public view point, which is formed from market economy, the slow development of local art literacy and the complex cultural influence, has impact on the public recognition of printmaking activity as a medium. Under such circumstance, this article explains how to take advantage of technology and how to aggressively involve into the public domain is the challenge to face. In the second half of this article, the position of printmaking in higher art education would be discussed.
