本訪談之目的，旨在對陶藝家孫超個人在陶瓷藝業上之成就，作一面對面直接對話的機緣與請教。特別是其藝術成就與技法上的創舉，有機會在其工作室中，親臨其現場的傾聽與觀察，並見其創作的實力與能量。孫超身為一九八七年國家文藝獎美術類得主，實是陶藝創作者得此獎項第一人，事實至目前為止，仍是陶藝界為一之人。再者，其有多件作品為國內外重要博物館收藏，因此選定其為臺灣陶藝人物誌訪談標的，以為孫超陶藝創作生涯的重要紀實。

This interview aims at investigating the achievement of Sun Chao in ceramic art by grasping the opportunity of face-to-face meeting with him. Especially for his unprecedented accomplishment in art and techniques, we have the opportunity to listen, observe and admire his creativity and energy directly from him in his studio.Bestowed with the Award of National Culture and Arts in 1987 (fine arts), he is indeed the first in history to receive such honor as a ceramic artist. In fact, as of now, he is still the one and only artist among ceramic field. Moreover, a great number of his art works are collections in many selected museums domestically and internationally. Therefore, we decided to interview Sun Chao as one of our 'Figures of Ceramic Artists in Taiwan' and inscribe his important career in ceramic arts in the book.
