The Ministry of Education of the Republic of China had set special classes in 1981,which offered extra curriculum within the regular schools in order to discover those who are talented in dance. The so-called Talented Dance Class is offered from the third grade all the way through high school. These classes have spread many districts.The author thinks the existence, development and future of these special classes deserve further study. This paper is to review the founding history of the Talented Dance Class, to point out the current problems and to make suggestions for the following areas:1.Orientation of Talented Dance Class 2.Methods for entrance examination 3.Curriculum design 4.Qualifications of teachers 5.Ways of student counseling 6.Administration In so doing,people will will be more aware of this issue and work on improving the future development of the Talented Dance Class.
