劇場是一個提供觀賞環境的場所，與空間量體雖然影響觀眾的心理因素，但視域角度的優劣關係到藝術欣賞的效果。一個設計良好的劇場必須具備良好視線，舒適座椅與音質清晰的尚環境。 一般觀眾對於劇場視線與座椅的認知不足，而且劇場經營者或工作者，往往因為商業或成本的考量，長期忽視劇場人性化規範的考量，惡性循環的後果，或多或少限制不同賞年齡層的參與也影響觀眾人品的正成長。 本文旨在探討劇場在探討劇場環境與觀眾視覺的關係，檢應良好座席的設計與安排，並且將視線角，高度與座椅的關係，作整合性的研究，提供硬體設計的參考。

Theatre is an unique environment to enjoy a performance. A good viewing angle, comfortable seating and quality sound effects are the key factors affecting an audience’s viewing experience. A well-designed theatre, thus, must include “GOOD VIEW,” “COMFORT SEAT,” and “QUALITY SOUND” for their audience to enjoy a performance. Among them, “audience sees’ (GOOD VIEW), is by all means the primary concern. However, box office income has always been more important than how audience can view the stage, seating arrangement is far from being satisfactory. Furthermore, because of the lack of theatre technological knowledge, theatre builders hardly understand how distance, front row or back row, seat height, and eye open angle can profoundly affect the way audience perceivers a show. As a result, different age bracket patrons will be discouraged to participate theatre seasons, and consequently, a decreased audience growth. This research, then, aims to examine the relation between the theatre environment and the audience sees. In order to define the sightline position and the degree of open eye angle, the research will also combine the use of human scale and determine view angle for the sightline, height of seat as a basic reference to design a better theatre.
