舞臺技術e化歷程--電腦應用程式於舞臺技術之運用

電腦科技帶給劇場藝術許多可能性,譬如電腦置及多媒體劇場等。除了這些已廣為人熟知的現代科技以外,舞臺技術正在進行一個寧靜的e化革命,本文以電腦文明開始之前的舞臺劇演出形式為出發點,著眼於舞臺技術及相關的設計領域、戲劇製作及相關的管理領域,尋找電腦程式在當代劇場的舞臺。其中所引用的範例多為個人從事舞臺技術之實際經驗與參觀見聞,包括一、試算與管理程式單元,介紹預算製作、工程設計、資料庫及工作進度規劃的應用程式;二、電腦輔助繪圖單元,羅列在過去幾年的舞臺製作過程中,作者使用電腦輔繪圖程式逐步解決技術問題的實際案例;三、程式語言與運動控制程式單元,分別在軟體寫作及周邊硬體方面陳述了不同方式的整合範例。
Stage technology exits for the sake of theatre arts, in which lighting and sound were the pioneers applying computer science. Such as computer lights and multimedia theatre, technologies bring more possibilities to the theatre. Beyond that, stage technology is under a quiet e-revolution. The discussion here focuses stage styles on years before computer era, including scenic technical design and production management, seeking a contemporary “stage” for computer programs. Most examples in this essay are personal experiences; few are some observations from the trip to Stratford Festival in Canada, 2005. All the copyrights of the computer application programs referenced here belong to related software companies. Software exemplification below is for academic purpose only, nothing to do with its advantages or disadvantages, not mentioning the intention to serve as ad for any product. In the section of spreadsheet and administration software, some of the Microsoft application programs are introduced. In addition to production budget, Excel can be used in different ways like structural design, calculating the allowable stresses of various steel beams. The database in Access helps organize the production and inventory managements, as well as increase the convenience and expedite the procedure. Meanwhile, Project assists the managers of all technical departments to make the production pans and schedules with clarity and accuracy, in spite closely correlating with each other. In the following section, some instances are presented to demonstrate how the author used computer-aided-design programs to solve the technical issues. In the last section, examples are given to show how the programming languages and hardware can be integrated to produce theatre effects, such a running lights with operating interface for setting cues, programmable digital clock, and the possibilities of scenic automation.
